The nowloon afïair has received conspicuous and of course partisan treatment in the local press, with emphasis on "imperialism”, “o'uelty" and "sovereign rights'. typical editorial, from the "Liang ang . BU of January 18th, is attached, in translation. News releases from Canton reported the reactions and resolutions of the students there. The destruction of british property on : hameen shortly afterwarus received only routine reporting here the following day. All remained quiet in .moy, however, demonstration being confined to scribblings on tar Consulate-Ceneral gates and the nearby walls, "eturn long rong and Lowloon", appearing on the night of January 18 19.
